A Fundraiser with Flavor

The Cleveland Garlic Festival is more than a delicious weekend — it’s the largest annual fundraiser for North Union Farmers Market, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting small farms, expanding healthy food access, and growing the local food economy in Northeast Ohio.

Held in historic Shaker Square, the festival shines a spotlight on our region’s local garlic growers and celebrates everything bold, flavorful, and local. Proceeds from the weekend help fund food assistance programs like SNAP, WIC, Produce Perks, and Senior vouchers at our farmers markets.

Once dubbed “America’s Stinkiest Festival” by Food & Wine Magazine, Cleveland Garlic Festival is a joyful mash-up of food, community, and fun — with a serious mission at its heart.

A Feast for Garlic Lovers

If you love garlic, you’re in the right place. From crispy garlic fries and garlicky grilled meats to the now-famous Mitchell’s Garlic Ice Cream, the festival is a dream come true for adventurous eaters.

Sample your way through the Ohio Cheese Guild Tent, sip on local craft beers, and watch some of Cleveland’s finest chefs compete in Top Chef Grill-Offs, where garlic is always the star ingredient.

Family Fun & Festival Favorites

Whether you’re 5 or 85, there’s something for everyone. The Mighty Locavores Kids Area is packed with inflatable obstacle courses, tractor photo ops, face painting, and special guests like Flower Clown.

Don’t miss the quirky and beloved Miss Garlic Pageant, where local personalities compete for the crown—and the garlic tiara.

Live Music All Weekend

The soundtrack to your garlic-filled adventure? A full lineup of great local bands performing on the main stage all weekend long. From bluegrass and indie rock to funk and folk, the music brings even more energy and heart to this vibrant community celebration.

Join us August 23 & 24, 2025, at Shaker Square
