Vendor Requirements & Permits
Before participating in the Cleveland Garlic Festival, all food vendors must ensure compliance with state and city regulations. Below are important guidelines and permits required for participation:
Are You a Cottage Food Producer?
If you believe you qualify as a Cottage Food Production Operation and are exempt from licensing and inspection, please review Ohio’s guidelines to confirm your eligibility:

Temporary Food Event Permit (Required by the City of Cleveland)
All food vendors are required to obtain a Temporary Food Event Permit from the Cleveland Department of Public Health. This permit ensures food safety standards are met during the event.
Vendors must apply directly and submit a copy of their permit to info@clevelandgarlicfestival.org by September 10, 2025.

Hazardous Materials & Open Flame Permit
If you plan to use propane tanks, open flames, or similar equipment, you are required to obtain a Temporary Hazardous Materials Permit from the City of Cleveland. Please note:
No propane or open flame may be used inside a tent
Sterno is allowed but must be placed on a non-flammable surface and be accompanied by a fire extinguisher
A copy of this permit must also be submitted to info@clevelandgarlicfestival.org by September 10, 2025.
